Poland’s food exports is one of the sectors with great development prospects!
Exports of Polish food are already worth EUR 16 bln a year. Poland’s food export hits are meat, apples, vodka and sweets. The 2012 surplus of food exports over imports amounted to EUR 3 bln. The largest surplus is recorded in the poultry segment. In this segment, we are Europe’s number three player. When it comes to the production of apples, we are number one. Polish food exports will continue to grow, yet not necessarily solely on the EU markets. There are new, fast-growing markets, where Polish food is becoming increasingly popular – exports grew respectively to: Libya by 648%, Yemen by 267%, Syria by 145%, Saudi Arabia by 124% and the United Arab Emirates by 118%.
